YSCP believes in the education of the “whole child.” While core subjects are crucial, the arts are a way for students to develop creatively, physically, and mentally. Weekly offerings of art, music, character education, and physical education in all grades share the foundations of:

  • Working together and team building.

  • Creative thinking and problem solving

  • Developing a respectful relationship with peers

  • Building independence and self-confidence

Additionally, students are able to take their learning further if they so desire; students in grades 4 through 8 may choose to participate in band and/or choir; students in grades 6-8 may choose to take the fine arts elective; many sports and athletic clubs are offered in the extended day after school program.
